The next produce swap will be Sunday the 18th March, as part of the Bacchus Marsh Harvest Festival. All welcome, just need to bring some of your home grown produce to swap with others.

Art Recycled in the Garden - That's Not Art

To all of our volunteers and artists, thank you for making our second Thats Not Art event a great success.
A special thank you to Moorabool Shire Council for providing an arts grant to help us fund the day.
We had well over 150 people attend the event, from children to couples, to our senior citizens. The weather was perfect, the activities were inviting, and the creativity flowed.

BMCU's campaign for a Bendigo Bank Community Bank in Bacchus Marsh has hit a new milestone, with pledges to date reaching $360,000. Pledges indicate your interest in purchasing shares in our community bank. Your pledge is not a legally binding contract. Share in a community bank provides an opportunity for locals to invest in a local business. Community Banks return a percentage of profits to the community, for locally identified initiatives. Expressions of Interest sought from members and supporters for new Battery Recycling project Action Group

Bacchus Marsh Community Unlimited is considering a Battery Recycling Project for every household and businesses in Bacchus Marsh and potentially the whole Shire. This initiative sits firmly under our objective to support environmental projects in the Community and will see a large percentage of batteries kept out of our landfill.

We are seeking expressions of interest from our supporters and members to join an Action Group that would work together to launch this exciting project. If you would like to be a member of this action group or can assist in anyway please contact Jim Fraser on jim@aquafocus.com.au

Several ideas have been raised by individuals or groups within Bacchus Marsh which we will learning more about in the coming months.

BMCU will be holding it's first Annual General Meeting and Community Meeting
When: April 20, 2010
Time: 7:30pm
Where: Bacchus Marsh Fire Station

Members and non-members all welcome

Become a member of BMCU Inc. for a nominal yearly membership fee and receive voting rights at AGM's and Community Meetings, regular updates on projects, and invitations to participate in activities.
Members who sign up at our AGM in 2010 will receive a hemp bag and materials to promote our Plastic Bag Free Project.

So come along and find out about BMCU and let us know your vision for Bacchus Marsh
